I'm Amber and I'm from Ireland. This is a blog mostly about physics but with some other interesting things thrown in. So if you have an interest (as I do) in astrophysics, particle physics, theoretical physics, mathematics, technology and other science related topics, then I invite you to follow my blog.

Newgrange at night
Newgrange is a passage tomb, constructed around 3200 BCE, during the Neolithic period. It is located in County Meath, Ireland.
During the Winter Solstice, the chamber inside floods with the light of the rising sun. The tomb is aligned with the sun in such a way that the box above the entrance to the tomb allows light to shine through the passage into the main chamber. It is truly amazing that humans 5000 years ago had the knowledge and intelligence to get this alignment just right.
I’ve been there and it’s amazing#
